Police make arrest after motorcycle rider injured in Cloverdale

Cannington Detectives have charged a 36-year-old man after an incident in Cloverdale on Sunday, 5 July 2020 in which a man was seriously injured.

It is alleged about 12.55am, an 18-year-old man was riding a Yamaha off-road motorcycle along Kew Street and as he approached the intersection of Tighe Street, the 36-year-old man threw a brick at the rider. The rider lost control of the motorcycle and fell unconscious onto the grass verge.

The rider was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital with serious head injuries and was in an induced coma for two weeks.

The 36-year-old man from Brookdale has been charged with:-

• With Intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm, Does Grievous Bodily Harm to Another.

He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, 14 August 2020.
