Police make arrest - Aggravated assault in Alice Springs 27 July

Northern Territory Police have arrested a male youth in relation to an aggravated assault in which it is alleged he used a replica firearm to threaten others inside a home in Alice Springs last week.

On Tuesday 19 July around 9:30pm a 14-year-old male was with a group of youths inside a home when it is alleged he presented a replica firearm and used it to threaten another youth.

It will be further alleged the same male then verbally threatened to harm other people in the group with the replica firearm.

No one was physically injured during this incident.

Detectives from the Southern Criminal Investigation Branch located and arrested the youth who was taken to the Alice Springs Watch House where he was charged with Possess prohibited weapon and Aggravated assault.

He will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court at a later date.
