Police make arrest - Assault at Casuarina 12 December

Northern Territory Police have arrested two youths in relation to an assault that occurred in Casuarina last week.

It is alleged that on Thursday evening, the pair, aged 13 and 17, followed a group of youths from the Casuarina Bus Exchange through a nearby shopping centre, when one of the offenders pushed a 15-year-old male youth and demanded his property by threatening him with an edged weapon.

The youth refused and the offender grabbed his bag before the pair fled the scene. The matter was reported to security and Strike Force Trident began investigating the incident.

Through investigations, the pair were identified and later located on Friday by Trident and Dog Operations Unit.

They were taken to Palmerston Watch House and charged with;

  • Assault with intent to steal - armed with a weapon
  • Serious breach of bail

The pair were remanded to appear before court today.
