Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to a serious assault in Darwin overnight to come forward.
Around 3.20am, a man was assaulted by a large group of people in the Shadforth Lane/Peel Street area.
Six people have been arrested but detectives from Serious Crime are seeking further evidence before charges are laid.
The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Trent Abbott said, "It's a busy time of year on the nightclub strip and we are certain there are more witnesses to this incident.
"People may have witnessed, filmed or captured this incident on dashcam. We're asking for anyone with information to contact 131 444 or 1800 333 000 and please quote reference 9518039."
