A man has died following a serious assault in Innisfail in April.
At 5.30pm on April 10, police were called to the footpath between Charles Street and Kookaburra Street in Innisfail following reports a 63-year-old man had been seriously assaulted.
He was transported to the Cairns Hospital with serious head and facial injuries before being flown to Townsville. He later died in Innisfail Hospital yesterday (June 25).
A 17-year-old Deeragun male has been charged with grievous bodily harm and will reappear in Children's Court at a later date.
Investigations continue.
