Power Of Nurses To Transform Health

Whether it's at the bedside, in the classroom or in the realm of research, University of Alberta nurses do a lot of heavy lifting.

That's why this year's theme for Canada's National Nursing Week, which starts today, is so fitting: The power of nurses to transform health.

Tomorrow is also International Nurses Day, celebrated annually on May 12 in remembrance of Florence Nightingale's birth.

In honour of the commitment all nurses bring to health care, Folio celebrates the work of six innovative U of A nursing leaders who are putting patients first.
