Readers, winners this summer

The Summer Reading Club will return to Swan Hill Regional Library for another fun-filled season.

The Summer Reading Club is a free program that inspires imaginations and instills a love of libraries and reading for children and young people school age to 18.

Libraries Manager, Camille Cullinan said this year, the Summer Reading Club will launch an exciting new website, purpose built for children and families to use in a fun and safe way.

"Responding to this year's theme of Myths, Legends and Fairy tales, the new website will encourage the discovery of Tales of Wonder.

"A host of interactive challenges will not only keep summer reading fun, but also encourage and guide children to participate with their local libraries." Ms Cullinan said.

Ms Cullinan said the Summer Reading Club is always popular and more and more children are reaping the benefits of reading during the summer break each year.

"The summer reading club is supported by a number of local businesses who have provided prizes and incentives for local children.

"There are some great items available for children who read throughout the summer break with prizes such as a 32 GB iPad, a mini Sphero kit, Toyworld, EB Games and Showbiz Cinema gift vouchers and lots more to win in our major prize draw in February," she said.

The Summer Reading Club is free to join and the first 100 children to register at the Swan Hill Library will receive a Summer Reading Club kit.

There is no limit to the number of children who can join and all participants have a chance to enter the major prize draw to be held in February.'

Summer Reading Club runs from 1 December 2020 to 31 January 2021.
