Career Awareness Week!

Military Veterans are well positioned to transition into cybersecurity work roles. Whether they have direct military experience with information security or possibly possess a highly desirable security clearance (or ability to qualify for a clearance), our nation's military veterans are increasingly recognized as an attractive talent pool for cybersecurity roles.

Are you a military veteran or do you know a veteran who might be interested in a cybersecurity career? From training programs and scholarships to tutorials on how to translate your skills, there are a plethora of resources available to help with the transition to civilian life and join the cybersecurity workforce.

This online panel, moderated by University of California, Berkeley undergraduate student Charissa Kim, will discuss pathways into cybersecurity careers and how individuals can best position themselves for success in the field. From academic degrees to certifications, competitions to bootcamps, and everything in-between, join us as the panelists demystify common misconceptions about cybersecurity work and share guidance on jump-starting your cybersecurity career.

Final Day for the Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week Capture the Flag Competition

Oct. 18- 21, 2021

Last day to take advantage of the Virginia Cyber Range Capture the Flag competition developed just for Cybersecurity Career Awareness Week! This CTF includes challenges aligned with the categories from the NICE Workforce Framework for Cybersecurity and is appropriate for a range of participants, including introductory challenges to get new players involved!

Careers in Cybersecurity Poster Contest

Entries close Nov. 12th, 2021

Calling all K-12 youth! Draw a picture of your idea of a Cybersecurity Superhero that shows how they secure and protect our world. The goal of the poster contest is to engage young people in learning more about careers in cybersecurity through the creation of posters that will encourage peers to pursue a cybersecurity or cybersecurity-related career. CyberHeroComics and Fortinet believe that young people know best how to craft messages and the images that will resonate with their peers.
