Small and family businesses can now register for three flagship expos being delivered by the Crisafulli Government during Queensland Small Business Month in May.
The expos, held in Cairns, Gold Coast and Brisbane, will help small and family businesses build resilience, embrace innovation, and seize opportunities, including those from the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, and an ever-evolving digital landscape.
The expos are part of a plan to end Labor's decade of decline where they failed to deliver the support small and family business needed to build resilience and embrace new opportunities.
The Crisafulli Government has also put a stop to the previous Labor Government funded, champagne cork popping, red carpet celebrations that failed to deliver the tools small and family businesses needed to grow.
The expos will feature a variety of engaging and interactive sessions, including presentations from business leaders and experts, panel discussions sharing insights from small businesses, workshops focused on practical skills and capability development, and opportunities for one-on-one support.
The expos will cover a diverse range of topics, including financial management, procurement, emerging technologies and practical tips for small and family businesses.
They will also provide an opportunity for small and family businesses to network with other businesses and find out more about the support and services available.
Minister for Small and Family Business Steve Minnikin said Queensland Small Business Month provided the opportunity for businesses to access the tools and support to adapt to global challenges.
"Queensland Small Business Month 2026 is about helping small businesses build resilience, embrace innovation and seize opportunities," Minister Minnikin said.
"The expos in Cairns, Gold Coast and Brisbane are bringing together industry leaders, government representatives, and business experts to deliver engaging sessions that address the real challenges and opportunities facing small businesses today.
"Attendees will also be able to access one-on-one support, including mentoring, financial counselling, and cyber security advice, ensuring they leave with actionable strategies to strengthen their small businesses."
During Queensland Small Business Month, the state's small and family businesses will also benefit from the inaugural Collaboration Partner Program, with 28 partners already committed to delivering tailored events and initiatives across Queensland in May.
"For the first time this year, our Collaboration Partners are playing a pivotal role in making a real difference for Queensland's 508,000 small and family businesses," Minister Minnikin said.
"From digital skills workshops to networking events and industry-specific training, these partners are delivering events that support small businesses to build resilience, embrace innovation, and seize opportunities."
Applications to become a Collaboration Partner during Queensland Small Business Month remain open until 30 April.
Queensland Small Business Month will also feature a range of webinars and online tools designed to support small and family businesses in regional and remote areas, as well as those unable to attend the in-person expos.
