Secretary of State has reappointed Stephen Cohen as Commissioner of Gambling Commission

Stephen has over 40 years' experience in asset management, in Asia, Europe and the USA. He started his career with Mercury Asset Management and worked both as a portfolio manager and in business development. Stephen is also on the board of the Health & Care Professions Council, a healthcare regulator and is Chair of Audit for both the JPMorgan Japan Investment Trust plc and the Schroder UK Public Private Trust plc. Stephen brings a global business perspective, deep experience of finance and financial services regulation, corporate governance, as well as board engagement, activism and fintech.

This role is remunerated at £295 per day. This reappointment has been made in accordance with the Cabinet Office's Governance Code on Public Appointments, the process is regulated by the Commissioner for Public Appointments. The Government's Governance Code requires that any significant political activity undertaken by an appointee in the last five years is declared. This is defined as holding office, public speaking, making a recordable donation or candidature for election. Mr Cohen has not declared any activity.
