Serious injury crash closes Pacific Highway in Wadalba

Two people are in critical condition after a crash on the Central Coast, NSW Police say.

About 12.25pm today, a southbound Mitsubishi Magna and northbound Toyota Camry collided on The Pacific Highway, Wadalba.

The male driver of the Magna was trapped in the vehicle for a period of time before being released. He was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital with the female front seat passenger. Both are in a critical condition.

A three year old child in the back seat escaped uninjured.

The male driver of the Toyota Camry was taken to John Hunter Hospital by road with leg and chest injuries.

He is understood to be in a stable condition.

The Pacific Highway is closed in both directions while investigations take place.

It is anticipated the road will be closed for a number of hours, with the crash investigation unit to attend and make inquiries.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to call Crime Stoppers.
