Southbank police are appealing for public assistance after a number of plants were stolen from the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne last month.
It is believed an unknown man climbed a fence into the gardens on Birdwood Avenue just after 1am on Saturday 16 May.
The thief then removed six palm plants from the Fern Gully display and left the scene.
The plants are worth approximately $200.
Investigators have released an image of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.
