Speeding charge - Hilbert

Traffic Enforcement Group officers have charged a woman after she was detected travelling over 100kph in a school zone in Hilbert on Tuesday, 22 September 2020.

It will be alleged at 3.15pm the officers were conducting a laser action on Forrest Road when they detected the woman travelling at 122kph in the 40kph school zone.

The woman's Mitsubishi Lancer was fitted with an interlock device that required her to provide a breath sample with zero blood alcohol content before her vehicle will start.

It is alleged the woman's breath test was 0.064g/210L breath.

As a result, a 29-year-old woman from Wandi was charged with:-

• Reckless driving exceeded the speed limit by 45 km/h or more in a confiscation zone,

• Exceed 0.05g alcohol per 100ml of blood and,

• Circumvented the operation of an alcohol interlock.

She is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court 19 October 2020.

Her car was impounded for 28 days.
