Leading fresh produce buyers from Greater China, North Asia and Southeast Asia will soon tour regional Victoria on a major trade mission to connect with local fruit and vegetable growers and exporters.
Global Victoria's inbound trade mission will take place from 18-22 May where more than 30 importers from across Asia will visit:
- Mildura
- Swan Hill
- Shepparton
- Greater Melbourne
Across each town, importers will visit farms and packing and logistics facilities to see first-hand the quality of Victorian produce.
The breadth of Victoria's high-quality horticulture sector will be on show, including:
- citrus
- apples
- table grapes
- nectarines
- peaches
- plums
- cherries and
- a range of vegetables
The visit aligns with the citrus and apples harvest. Apples are a key focus this year following recent market access enabling Australian growers to export to China.
China remains Victoria's largest food and fibre export market, totalling almost $5 billion in value in 2023-24.
This mission is funded through the $34.9 million Boosting Victorian Exports Package, which helps small and medium-sized businesses access global markets and diversify their customer base — part of more than $47 billion in Victorian regional investment over the past decade.
