Spring Hub equips producers with seasonal toolkit

Producers now have a suite of resources at their fingertips to support seasonal on-farm decision making with the launch of a Spring Hub on Meat & Livestock Australia's (MLA) website.

MLA has compiled seasonal tips and tools in the one location, covering key spring management practices specific to production type and region including northern cattle, southern cattle, sheep and goats.

MLA General Manager, Research, Development and Adoption, Michael Crowley, said the Spring Hub equips producers with a toolkit so they can prepare pastures and plan livestock activities.

"Like other hubs MLA has been developing, including for genetics, mental health, dung beetles, leucaena, phosphorus and COVID-19, we're trying to curate relevant content for producers to save them time searching for resources," Mr Crowley said.

"The Spring Hub includes advice from some of Australia's most respected advisors, sharing their tips to guide on-farm management decisions through late winter and into spring for Northern Australia, Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and southern Western Australia.

"A range of tools, calculators, manuals, fact sheets and links to publications, targeted to production type and region are featured on the Spring Hub.

"Looking ahead, MLA is also developing a Summer Hub of similarly seasonally-relevant resources."
