The Tasmanian Government has delivered pay rises and improved conditions for thousands of workers, with seven wage agreements approved with the Tasmanian Industrial Commission today.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff said through good faith negotiations we have delivered fair and affordable pay rises, increased allowances, boost to base pay and improved conditions for thousands of Tasmanian State Servants.
"I am very pleased that these agreements achieve the fair and affordable outcomes and positive improvements we have always worked towards in good faith for with unions," Premier Rockliff said.
"We acknowledge and appreciate the outstanding work of our allied health professionals, dentists, teacher assistants and so many others who deliver the essential services Tasmanians rely on every day."
The following agreements received approval and will now proceed to registration by the Commission:
- Allied Health Professionals Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement (three years)
- Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement (PSUWA) (three years)
- Port Arthur Historic Site Management Authority Staff Agreement (three years)
- Dental Officers Agreement (three years)
- Radiation Therapists Agreement (three years)
- AWU Public Sector Union Wages Agreement (three years)
- Ministerial Drivers (three years)
Once registered by the Commission, these agreements will deliver pay rises and improved conditions for a significant number of state service employees, including Pharmacists, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists, Radiation Oncology Medical Physicists, Fire Crew, Dental Officers, Food and Beverage, Tour Guides, Radio Dispatch Operators, Legal Practitioners, Teacher Assistants, Field Officer/Ranger, Operational Health Officers (Ward Aides, Orderlies and other operational hospital workers), Administrative employees (general stream), ICT, Service Tasmania employees and Radiation Therapists.
The Tasmanian Government will continue to work closely with other unions to finalise remaining wage agreements.
