Three serious after crash on Port Road Thebarton, South Australia

Three people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two car crash on Port Road, Thebarton overnight.

Just after 1am on Sunday 20 September, a black Ford Mustang travelling south on Port Road, collided with a silver Ford Festiva that was travelling east on Phillips Street, turning into Port Road.

Three passengers in the small Festiva all men in their 20's, have all been taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries .

The driver of the Festiva, a 26-year-old man was not injured in the crash and was breath tested at the scene, allegedly returning a blood alcohol reading of 0.185 or more than three times over the legal limit.

The driver of the Mustang was not injured in the crash.

The Festiva driver is currently being interviewed and expected to be charged with cause injury through dangerous driving, drink driving and aggravated driving without due care.

Port Road is currently closed for south bound traffic between Adams Street Hindmarsh and George Street Thebarton while police investigate the crash. North bound traffic is still open.
