Traffic and drug offences arrest, WA

Around 10am yesterday (6 November 2018), Fremantle Detectives sighted a Kawasaki motorcycle at the intersection of Wanneroo Road and Amelia Street in Balcatta.

It is alleged the motorcycle contravened a red traffic signal. Officers drove in the general direction the motorcycle had gone and they located the motorcycle and rider at a residence in Collier Avenue, Balcatta, WA Police say.

During a search of the male rider it is alleged police located and seized a quantity of Methylamphetamine.

Fremantle Detectives with the assistance of Mirrabooka and Morley Police executed a search warrant on the residence.

It is alleged during the search police located and seized a loaded handgun, Cannabis and various drug paraphernalia.

A 38-year-old man from Kenwick has been charged with:-

•Possess Firearm with Circumstances of Aggravation;

•Possess Prohibited Drug;

•Reckless Driving;

•No Authority to Drive; and

•Stealing.

He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, 7 November 2018.
