The City's 2026-27 budget delivers a significant investment of $543 million in transport and infrastructure driving sustainable projects to meet the needs of the Gold Coast's growing population.
Projects like the Advanced Resource Recovery Centre (AARC) and sewerage treatment plant upgrades will play a vital role in maintaining sustainable essential services and a healthy liveable city for all residents now and in the future.
Investment will also help expand transport networks including public transport connectivity, improved intersections, road resurfacing and active travel options.
"Economic and environmentally sustainable development of essential services for our growing population will be a key priority in this year's City Budget," said Mayor Tom Tate.
"In 2026-27 we will invest $337 million towards improvements on our roads and public transport connectivity.
"An investment of $101 million will go into developing our state-of-the-art integrated recycling and energy precinct AARC while a further $78.2 million will go towards the Pimpama and Elanora Sewerage Treatment Plants.
"Our ongoing stormwater infrastructure upgrades across the city will receive $51 million in funds.
