TSU, Wildberries, Russ Team Up to Train Data Analysts

The Institute for Big Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence of Tomsk State University and the RWB company (Wildberries & Russ) will launch a joint master's degree program in 2025.

In May this year TSU Institute for Big Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence announced the launch of the Data Analytics for Business program. According to the press service of the institute, Wildberries & Russ became a partner of the project.

It was reported that, according to the analysis of the labor market, the demand for data analysts in Russia is growing - 5 thousand vacancies are opened monthly. Experts explain this by the fact that big data helps companies manage their business effectively, i.e., companies need specialists who can analyze and interpret information.

Big start

The documents for the new program could be submitted since June 20, and last weekend the project was presented to the international audience.

- Wildberries & Russ and the Institute for Big Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence of TSU will launch a joint master's program "Data Analytics for Business". This was announced on June 21 by Igor Koval, director of innovation and ecosystem development at the RWB, as part of the Youth Day at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The training in the joint master's program will begin on September 18.

Benefits for students

The two-year master's program takes into account the latest developments in the field of analytics, the needs of real companies and a fundamental approach. Students may choose from three specializations: product analytics, marketing analytics, BI analytics.

Classes will be held online, while master students will receive all the benefits of full-time education.

- TSU launches a master's degree program with one of the strongest modern companies in Russia - Wildberries & Russ. RWB experts will teach some of the disciplines together with TSU professors. The company will also provide internships for students and offer them to write a final qualification work on real projects and cases, - said Vyacheslav Goiko, Director of the Institute.

The Open Day will be held for all applicants interested in this master's degree program on June 26.

RWB LLC was formed as a result of the merger of the IT company Wildberries and the outdoor advertising operator Russ to create the latest digital trading platform and provide tools for the development of small and medium-sized businesses. Currently, the company operates in Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as in China and the UAE.

Earlier, it was reported that Wildberries & Russ received an educational license and now has the right to provide educational services, as well as issue educational documents to students. In November 2024, Wildberries & Russ announced the launch of an educational field and the development of its own educational platform.

The Institute for Big Data Analysis and Artificial Intelligence was opened at TSU at the end of 2024. It was created on the basis of the Cyberia TSU Supercomputer Center and the Big Data Applied Analysis Research Laboratory. It is an engineering center for creating products and technologies using AI, as well as an educational hub for training specialists in the field of Big Data and AI analysis.
