Two new pocket parks offer rare open space opportunity for Collingwood

Did you know Collingwood has just three square meters of open space for every square kilometre of land?

Collingwood has some of the lowest levels of open space in Yarra. This means less places for people to enjoy the fresh air and sunlight, and for children to play.

We have an opportunity to change that for Collingwood.

In 2019, the Victorian Government announced its Local Parks Program, designed to help create free up more open space in Melbourne's dense suburbs. Funding for 25 new parks was announced in May 2020 – including two locations in Collingwood – providing a rare opportunity to improve Yarra's livability.
