University of Helsinki admits 1,300+ to international master's programs

More than 7,000 applicants from almost 150 countries applied to the international master's programmes commencing in autumn 2023.

In the application round concluded in January 2023, a total of 7,116 applicants from 148 countries applied to the 35 international master's programmes* of the University of Helsinki. All applicants have been notified of the results by email.

A student place was offered to 18% of the applicants, which means that 1,312 new students were admitted to the international master's programmes. They hail from both Finland and the rest of the world.

Of those admitted, 76% are from outside Finland and 60% from non-EU and non-EEA countries. In addition to Finland, the highest number of admitted students come from China, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Admitted applicants must accept the offered student place no later than 14 July 2023.

*The Master's Programme in International Business Law did not admit new students in this application round.
