The University of Texas at Arlington has been recognized in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for its progress in supporting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, health, education and climate change.
UT Arlington ranked in the top 50% globally for all submitted categories. UTA submitted data for 13 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)—well above the minimum of four required—and placed in the top 25% for five SDGs, including notable improvements in these areas:
Good Health and Well-Being: UTA rose into the top 100 worldwide, ranking 72nd.
Sustainable Cities and Communities: UTA advanced to 48th globally, improving on last year's 59th-place ranking.
Overall, UTA's performance placed it in the 301–400 range out of 2,318 participating universities worldwide—up from 467 participating universities when the rankings began in 2019.

This marks the seventh edition of the Impact Rankings, which assess universities globally on their efforts to align with the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
