Verma Meets with Guatemalan President Giammattei

Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma met with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei today in Guatemala City. Deputy Secretary Verma and President Giammattei discussed the importance of the U.S.-Guatemala relationship and ongoing collaboration under the U.S. Strategy for Addressing the Root Causes of Migration in Central America. The Deputy Secretary underscored the U.S. commitment to support a smooth and orderly transition to President-elect Arevalo's administration. The Deputy Secretary and President Giammattei also discussed continued joint efforts on humane and effective migration management and citizen security.
