- Cath Hart appointed as a Board member of the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC)
- David Cresp and Sean Morrison to join the WAPC's Executive, Finance and Property Committee and Statutory Planning Committee
- New appointments bring depth of skills in property economics and development, land use planning, advocacy, stakeholder engagement and communications
New members have been appointed to the Western Australian Planning Commission Board and statutory committees, bringing a strong mix of skills and experience to support planning decisionmaking across the State.
The reappointments and new appointments will occur after several member terms concluded on 30 June 2026.
These include:
- reappointment of Jane Bennett and Helen Brookes to the WAPC as Board members for further terms of two years and four years respectively;
- appointment of Cath Hart as a member of the WAPC Board for a four-year term;
- appointment of David Cresp as a member of the Executive, Finance and Property Committee for a four-year term;
- reappointment of Cr Caroline Knight as a member of the Statutory Planning Committee for a four-year term;
- appointment of Sean Morrison as a member of the Statutory Planning Committee for a four-year term; and
- reappointment of Sue Hurt and Cr Charlie Zannino as members of the Swan Valley Statutory Planning Committee for further terms of one year and two years respectively.
Megan Adair, a member of the WAPC, Rebecca Moore, a member of the Statutory Planning Committee, and Rachel Chapman, a member of the Executive, Finance and Property Committee, concluded their terms on 30 June 2026.
Collectively, they have contributed over 20 years of service to the WAPC and its committees, demonstrating a deep commitment to public service. They are sincerely thanked for their dedication, the extensive expertise they have shared and their demonstrable passion for the WA planning system.
The WAPC plays a critical role in guiding land use planning and development across Western Australia, supported by its Board and committees, which bring together expertise from government, local government, industry and community interests.
The Cook Labor Government remains committed to ensuring the WAPC reflects a broad range of expertise and supports effective, transparent decisionmaking.
