Weather Update: Windy, Rainy SE, Cool West

BOM
Hello Ilana here from the Bureau with your National Weather Forecast for this weekend, Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th of June.

Now, tomorrow we'll be following the swift passage of this cold front moving through the south-eastern states, ahead of which we will see these rather warm and gusty northerly winds.

So, tomorrow we'll see rain moving through South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria, and even into southern inland parts of New South Wales and the ACT during the evening.

Elsewhere across the country, this south-easterly flow will bring showers up the Queensland coast.

Through Western Australia, much of this rainfall is easing through the interior, and we'll be watching this next trough and cold front approaching the far south-west during the evening.

Let's now take a look at each state, and we'll start in Queensland, where we're expecting to see some morning fog through inland parts of the south-east.

Otherwise, this ongoing south-easterly flow will bring showers up the east coast, in particular around the north tropical coast.

Through inland parts of the state tomorrow, it will be another dry, sunny and warm day. For Brisbane 24 °C, partly cloudy with a shower or two.

For New South Wales tomorrow, it will be another foggy morning through much of the east.

Now, a lot of the state will see dry conditions for a lot of the day, but some isolated shower activity will develop in the north-east and later, and towards the evening, we'll see rainfall increasing through the south-west, inland parts and even towards the ACT.

So, Canberra could see some late showers and a top of 17 °C.

For Sydney though it will be a dry day, morning fog then mostly sunny, a top of 22 °C.

For Victoria tomorrow, we'll see some strong northerly winds ahead of this approaching cold front.

Now, those gusty conditions are expected in particular about the ranges as well as about the Otways. We're going to see rainfall increase throughout the day through the west in the morning, through central parts of the state during the middle of the day and then into the east in the evening.

Melbourne will have a dry but windy start to the day, and then rainfall will start to develop from lunchtime or a little bit later. It will see a top of 17 °C.

Tasmania will also see those strong, gusty northerlies tomorrow morning.

In particular about elevated parts of the state as well as through the north-east. Now, we'll see rain increasing from the west throughout the day.

Launceston is going to see quite a rainy day.

Hobart will miss out on the heaviest rainfall but it will still see a few showers developing. It will see a top of 18 °C.

Through South Australia, we'll continue to see this trough and cold front bringing rain from the south-west through to agricultural parts throughout the day, and then generally contracting towards the east in the evening.

It does remain warmer than average for much of South Australia. For Adelaide tomorrow, it will be a cloudy day.

We'll see rain starting to increase in the morning and lingering through the afternoon before easing. It will see a top of 19 °C.

For Western Australia, this rainfall through the interior parts is really on an easing trend, so it will be dry for most of the state.

Later in the day we start to see this next approaching trough and cold front, which will bring some isolated late shower activity to the far south-west.

Now, we continue to see these cooler than average temperatures for south-western parts of Western Australia.

Perth tomorrow morning will drop to 3 °C, before a maximum temperature of just 18 °C.

For the Northern Territory, tomorrow it will be sunny again through the Top End. Apart from some isolated morning showers through the north-east.

For Darwin, it will be sunny with a top of 33 °C.

Through central Australia, it will be warm, but we'll start to see some cloud moving through. Alice Springs will see a top of 28 °C.

Now, heading into Sunday, where this cold front will continue to progress through New South Wales, bringing with it some shower activity.

So, Sydney will see some showers developing with 22 °C, and Canberra will see some early morning showers, with a top of 16 °C.

Now, through the south-east, behind that cold front, we will see a little bit of a drop in temperatures, but those temperatures will remain about average for this time of year.

So, for Hobart, partly cloudy and 13 °C. Melbourne a mostly sunny day with 15 °C and Adelaide a sunny day with 17 °C.

It will be different though out west, with the passage of this next cold front moving through WA. Perth will see showers increasing and a top of 19 °C.

Up north, it will be dry and sunny, 32 °C for Darwin. And for Brisbane, a possible shower with a top of 24 °C.

That's all for our National Weather Forecast.
