$47,000 cash, firearm, drugs seized in FPO search; two charged – Wetherill Park

A man and woman will appear in court today charged with firearm and drug offences after an operation in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 7.30am (Wednesday 6 January 2021), officers attached to Wetherill Park RES executed a Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) at an address on Jeremy Way, Cecil Hills.

During the search, police allegedly located 29 grams of heroin, two grams of methylamphetamine and prescription medication on a 34-year-old woman.

The estimated potential street value of the drugs seized is over $14,000.

Police also seized a loaded, silver Phoenix pistol, drug paraphernalia and $47,425 in cash, allegedly hidden across the property.

The woman, and a man, aged 32, were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

The woman was charged with supply prohibited drug (indictable), two counts of possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, and owner/occupier knowingly allow use as drug premises.

The man was charged with possess prohibited drug, owner/occupier knowingly allow use as drug premises, and firearm found at premises-subject to prohibition order.

They were both refused bail to appear in Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 7 January 2021).
