70 charges for pair after Moe burglary

Latrobe Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged two people following a burglary in Moe and attempted burglary in Newborough earlier this month.

It is alleged two offenders used a vehicle to ram the entrance of a Moore Street electrical store in Moe where they stole a number of items shortly before 6am on 7 June.

A short time earlier, it's alleged the same offenders attempted to break into a Rutherglen Road store in Newborough but were unsuccessful.

During the extensive investigation, detectives executed search warrants at Mitchells Road and King Street in Moe and McMillan Court, Newborough where drugs and stolen property were located.

A 21-year-old woman from Moe has been charged with 42 offences and a 44-year-old man from Moe has been charged with 28 offences including burglary, attempted burglary, theft, criminal damage, commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

The woman was remanded to appear in Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court today.

The man was remanded to appear in Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court on 3 July.
