The Minns Labor Government is delivering community infrastructure for growing communities in Transport Oriented Development (TOD) Accelerated Precincts, investing $90 million to build walking and cycling networks and street upgrades.
With close to 60,000 new homes planned for these areas over the next 15 years the first round of the Transport Oriented Development Community Infrastructure Program (TOD CIP) will help nine councils to build better communities.
Through this investment 20 projects have received funding within the Bankstown, Crows Nest, Homebush, Hornsby, Kellyville-Bella Vista and Macquarie Park TOD Accelerated Precincts.
They will deliver community infrastructure, including new shared user paths, safer pedestrian crossings, upgraded footpaths, improved cycling infrastructure, better connections to public transport and stronger links to parks, open spaces and blue-green grid corridors.
This is another example of the Minns Labor Government matching housing growth with the infrastructure needed to create thriving and vibrant communities where people can live, work, relax and play.
The projects were selected through a transparent and merit-based assessment process by the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure to make sure each of these projects will deliver significant benefits for local communities.
All projects funded under the TOD Community Infrastructure Program must be delivered by 30 June 2029. The Minns Labor Government will continue to work in partnership with councils to deliver Rounds Two and Three.
These investments are part of the Minns Labor Government's broader $520 million commitment to community infrastructure and open spaces, helping to create walkable, connected communities that improve access to jobs and essential services.

Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Paul Scully said:
"We're investing $90 million to deliver better connected communities as Bankstown, Crows Nest, Homebush, Hornsby, Kellyville-Bella Vista and Macquarie Park prepare to welcome close to 60,000 new homes in the next 15 years.
"Unlike the former Liberal National Government we're matching growth with infrastructure investment.
"From footpaths to cycleways and street upgrades each of these 20 projects will improve day to day life for the families, workers and young people that call these areas home.
"This is another example of the Minns Labor Government building better and more vibrant communities that people want to live in by planning homes, jobs, and transport together."
