The Adelaide Rifle Grand Prix took place over the weekend at the Wingfield Rifle Range in Adelaide, with remote competitors in Melbourne at the Melbourne International Shooting Centre. Athletes competed in Prone and Air Rifle on Saturday and Air Rifle again on Sunday.
The first event on Saturday, the 50m Rifle Prone competition saw Andrew Sevelj qualify for the final in first position, where he stayed throughout the final finishing in first with a score of 246.7. Jason Lowe finished in second with a score of 242.2 and Michael Davis, located in Melbourne finished third with a score of 219.7.
Following the Prone, athletes competed in the first 10m Air Rifle competition for the weekend where Michael Davis took first place with a score of 250.1, followed by Emma Adams with a score of 247.5 and in third position was Melbourne based Olivia Cartwright with a score of 224.3.
Sunday saw the final competition for the weekend, the second 10m Air Rifle competition. This time Emma Adams took first position with a score of 247, very close to the previous day's score, Michael Davis finished in second with a score of 244.4 and young Matilda Eyelander finished the competition in third.
Shooting Australia would like to thank the Wingfield Rifle Range and Target Rifle South Australia for hosting many Performance Series competitions throughout 2021, with this one being the last, and a great success. The final Performance Series competition for Rifle will be held in Melbourne at MISC in a few weeks and this time there is the possibility of athletes from Brisbane and Adelaide to compete remotely.
