Alleged drug supply uncovered by MEOCS during vehicle stop, NSW

A man will face court today charged with drug supply after 1kg of ‘ice’ was located in his vehicle in Sydney’s west overnight, NSW Police say.

About 11.15pm today, police from the State Crime Command’s Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad stopped a vehicle on Clarence Street, Merrylands.

The 25-year-old male driver and his vehicle were subsequently searched by virtue of a Firearms Prohibition Order.

During the search, officers located 1kg of a substance suspected to be methylamphetamine, cash, a mobile phone, and a fishing knife.

The man was arrested and taken to Merrylands Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drug (large commercial), goods in custody and custody of knife in public place.

He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court tomorrow.
