Drivers in Murrayville are now able to refuel their vehicles in town rather than crossing the border to find the closest fuel station, thanks to support from the Allan Labor Government.
The Cross Border Commissioner representing the Minister for Regional Development Gayle Tierney, today announced the completion of Murrayville's permanent fuel station, made possible by a $400,000 investment through the Regional Development portfolio.
The self-service fuel station is managed by Sunraysia Petroleum and operates 24/7 with both diesel and petroleum for purchase.
The fuel station is expected to help workers who frequently use the Mallee Highway around Murrayville, especially people who work in agriculture and construction.
These workers are often required to travel large distances across regional Victoria and interstate without being able to refuel near home.
Located between Ouyen and the South Australian border, Murrayville is a small town surrounded by Victoria's western desert national parks.
The project was managed by the Mildura Rural City Council.
Projects like this are part of the Labor Government's investment of more than $41 billion in rural and regional Victoria.
