Cbus recruiting KISS Army of staff

Minister for Tourism, Innovation and Sport and Minister Assisting the Premier on Olympics and Paralympics Sport and Engagement The Honourable Stirling Hinchliffe

Staff needed to help KISS Rock and Roll All Nite on 10 September at Cbus Super Stadium on the Gold Coast.

Cbus Super Stadium is recruiting 40 hospitality and event workers for KISS on the Gold Coast.

On Saturday 10 September, Cbus Super Stadium will build on Queensland's great lifestyle with the final concert of stadium rock pioneers KISS on their End of the Road world tour and local workers were needed.

"Major events like this are about attracting visitors to the Gold Coast and supporting jobs," the Premier said.

"There have been 27,400 jobs created on the Gold Coast in the past year and we want to create even more.

"That's why we'll keep investing in infrastructure and working to attract major events and films."

Tourism Minister Stirling Hinchliffe said KISS on the Gold Coast was a terrific job opportunity.

"It doesn't get much better than being on staff for the last ever KISS stadium concert in Australia and potentially the world," Mr Hinchliffe said.

"And there's a great chance for casual event staff to help out with jobs like distributing wristbands at the stadium turnstiles.

"Students from TAFE Queensland, Arcadia College, and Griffith University have already been recruited for KISS but more staff are needed."

Mr Hinchliffe said the extra 40 casuals sought by Cbus Super Stadium were on top of up to 1,000 workers already secured for usher, security and food and drink service duties.

"We Sure Know Something about Queenslanders and interstate visitors to the Gold Coast for KISStory-making events like this," the Minister said.

"They really do love to Rock and Roll All Nite and support Gold Coast accommodation and transport providers, cafes, restaurants and local tourism operators.

"When KISS Shout It Out Loud on the Gold Coast for their final show, the band will also become Cbus Super Stadium's first ever live concert event."

Cbus Super Stadium Manager Kristian Blundell said he expected the event to be a big hit with fans.

"KISS have been impressing audiences for decades with their wild stage theatrics, costumes and pyrotechnic displays and I think a concert like this is just what the region needs after a difficult couple of years with Covid," Mr Blundell said.

"Cbus Super Stadium has hosted NRL, rugby union, soccer, Nitro Circus and other community events and we're really excited to add 'concert venue' to the list and perhaps this could be the first of many!"
