The Casey community can now connect to services, resources and activities more easily thanks to the trial expansion of the City of Casey's Link Worker Program.
As part of the three-month trial, program team members are available to provide face-to-face support between 10.00 am and 2.00 pm on Wednesdays at Council's Customer Service Centre at Bunjil Place and on Thursdays at Cranbourne Park Customer Service Centre.
City of Casey Director Community Life Callum Pattie said the Link Worker Program was a pilot initiative Council had introduced to connect community members to the services and support they need.
"The aim of the program is to improve the wellbeing of our community members by connecting them to the activities, services and resources they need to live well," Mr Pattie said.
"We're delighted to be able to expand this program to provide this additional face-to-face support for our community over the coming months, so I encourage you to drop into our customer services centres and speak with our friendly team to find out how they can support you and connect you to what you need."
The team can connect you to a wide range of services, support and activities, including:
- Aged, disability and carer services and support groups
- Local events and festivals
- Employment and volunteering opportunities
- Financial counselling and debt management agencies
- Crisis support agencies and food relief
- Elder abuse or family violence support organisations
- Advocacy support and services
- Housing support
- Social and exercise groups.
The Link Worker Program, which is open to Casey residents of all ages who are seeking support, will run until the end of August.
