COVID-19 Council update: 8 July

All Melton City Council owned and operated community facilities will be closed to the general public as of midnight tonight, Wednesday 8 July.

On Tuesday, the Victorian Government announced in would reinstate Stage 3 COVID-19 restrictions for six weeks in response to an increase in transmission numbers in the greater Melbourne area.

Under the State Government's restrictions, anyone who lives in a metropolitan Melbourne area, including the City of Melton, will only be allowed to leave home for four reasons: shopping for food and supplies; medical care and caregiving, exercise and recreation; study and work – if you can't do it from home.

In addition, there will only be three reasons to cross the border of the City of Melton: shopping for food and supplies; medical care and caregiving; and study and work – if you can't do it from home.

  • All Council-operated community facilities will close as of midnight tonight including Melton City Libraries, community centres, youth centres, and recreation centres
