Cyclist dies after crash - Newcastle

A cyclist has died following a crash at Newcastle today.

About 8.40am (Sunday 10 March 2019), emergency services were called to Heron Road, in the Newcastle suburb of Kooragang, after reports a cyclist had crashed into the back of a parked truck.

Paramedics attended and treated the cyclist, a 62-year-old man, however, he could not be revived and died at the scene.

Officers from Newcastle City Police District attended and established a crime scene.

A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
