Marking two years in office, the Finocchiaro CLP Government remains committed to reversing Labor's crime crisis, rebuilding the economy and restoring the unique Territory lifestyle.

Criminal offences have fallen by 10,000 a year and the number of crime victims has fallen dramatically.

The Territory economy is leading the nation on many key economic indicators, with a record number of Territorians in jobs and four nation-building projects set to transform the NT.

Criminal offences have fallen to 2017 levels, the Territory leads the nation on a range of key economic indicators and the Territory lifestyle has been recognised as one of the best in the world under the Finocchiaro CLP Government.

As her Government marks two years in office, Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro said her administration remained committed to reversing Labor's crime crisis, rebuilding the economy and restoring the unique Territory lifestyle.

"We know there is still a lot of work to do, but we are delivering on our promise to Territorians to reverse the damage done by Labor," the Chief Minister said.

The Chief Minister said that reversing Labor's crime crisis remained her Government's number one priority.

"Safe communities are at the heart of the unique Territory lifestyle and my Government will never back down from our commitment to make our streets safe and to ensure Territorians feel secure in their own homes," she said.

To reverse Labor's crime crisis, over the past two years the Finocchiaro CLP Government has taken strong action including:

Introduced the toughest new bail laws in the country, including Declan's Law, strict new bail and community safety reformsWelcomed 259 new police recruits across all streams have commenced training and graduated, including Constables, PPSOs, and Auxiliaries. This includes 186 Constables, 52 Police Auxiliaries, and our first cohort of 21 PPSOs which graduated in late June. A further 35 PPSOs are in trainingSecured the strongest pay deal in two decades for Territory police, making them the highest paid in the countryAnnounced plans for a new 1,200-bed Men's Remand and Intake facility as well as a purpose-built 200-bed Women's centreIntroduced Police Public Safety Officers, the biggest policing reform in a generationPassed landmark child safety reformsLowered the age of criminal responsibility from 12 to 10Brought in additional powers to tackle nuisance public drinking and knife crimeIntroduced OC Spray for self defence.

"We have also done a lot of work to rebuild the economy and we have four nation-building projects set to transform the Territory: Betaloo Basin gas, the Northern Marine Complex, Arafura Rare Earth Nolan's mine and the Territory Energy Link," the Chief Minister said.
