Four boys charged over school break-in, vehicle theft at Bourke

Four boys have been charged over an alleged break and enter in Bourke early this morning.

Shortly before 3am today (Wednesday 30 December 2020), a group of boys entered a school premise on Tarcoon Street, where a silver Toyota Camry was allegedly stolen.

It is alleged that the vehicle was used to ram open a storage shed at the school where items were stolen.

The car was then driven throughout the township of Bourke, and on several occasions was driven towards officers.

Following inquiries, police arrested four boys, aged between 14 and 15, and took them to Bourke Police Station where they were charged.

A boy aged 14 and 15 were both charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

A 14-year-old boy was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and possess prohibited drug.

A 15-year-old boy was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner, larceny value and enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse.

All four boys were charged with breach of bail.

The car was later located in Anson Street, Bourke.

All were refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Wednesday 30 December 2020).
