From self-driving cars to innovative drug development, artificial intelligence (AI) is going to fundamentally change our lives in a variety of ways.

Practical applications

Our computer scientists study the technology at a deep and fundamental level. But we are also looking for practical medical applications and answers to new issues around, for example, liability and privacy. And we're exploring how the relationship between humans and robots is evolving. LIACS scientists work together with scientists from other disciplines in Leiden as well as with academic partners from Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University, industry and governments.
