The Harmony Soiree set to return to the Darwin Waterfront on Saturday 30 May 2026, marking 15 years of celebrating culture, connection, and community, as well as the Big Day Out in Harmony hosted in Alice Springs.
The Finocchiaro CLP Government is committed to ensuring inclusive, vibrant, multicultural events continue by boosting the Harmony Grants Program investment to $80,000.
The Harmony Grants support schools, local councils, and community organisations across the Territory to deliver impactful initiatives and major events that celebrate the Territory's multicultural identity.
The Finocchiaro CLP Government invites Territorians to celebrate culture, community, and connection at the Harmony Soiree at the Darwin Waterfront and the Big Day Out in Harmony in Alice Springs, both taking this Saturday 30 May 2026.
Now in its 15th year, the Harmony Soiree has cemented its place as one of the Territory's longest-running and most anticipated multicultural community events. It continues to bring people together through the universal languages of music, dance, food, and storytelling from cultures around the world.
Minister for Multicultural Affairs Jinson Charls, said the synchronised events highlight the strength, diversity, and inclusive spirit of the Territory.
"The Finocchiaro CLP Government is proud to support these celebrations, and by increasing our Harmony Grants funding to $80,000, we are ensuring grassroot multicultural organisations have the funding they need to share their heritage with all Territorians.
"Whether you are in Darwin or Alice Springs, these events offer a wonderful opportunity for families to gather, learn from one another, and reinforce the powerful message that everyone belongs in the Territory," said Mr Charls.
The free, family-friendly Harmony Soiree at the Darwin Waterfront will feature an array of live cultural performances, community stalls, interactive workshops, diverse food vendors, and the spectacular, much-loved lantern parade.
The Harmony Soiree is delivered in proud partnership with the Darwin Waterfront Corporation, Darwin Community Arts, and the Multicultural Council of the Northern Territory.
Central Australians can immerse themselves in the festivities at the Big Day Out in Harmony in Alice Springs, delivered in partnership with the Multicultural Community Services of Central Australia.
Both events form a central part of the Northern Territory Government's broader Harmony celebrations, with the Northern Territory Government continuing to deliver on its promise to prioritise local communities and revitalise the Territory lifestyle.
