The $12 million facility will accommodate 40 people and feature advanced care technologies including resident monitoring, environment control, communication and entertainment options.
"This is critical for Denmark and I congratulate Amaroo Care Services and the Denmark community for putting forward a strong and innovative project concept," said Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Ken Wyatt AM.
"It will address the well-documented shortage of local aged care services, including specialist dementia care and respite services, reflecting our Government's commitment to supporting senior Australians who have complex or diverse needs.
"The planned design is also exciting, with a series of small households to deliver a modern model of care which is achieving excellent outcomes for residents, particularly those living with dementia."
Member for O'Connor Rick Wilson welcomed the opportunity to keep Denmark's senior residents in their community.
"I want people who have lived and worked in this beautiful location to be able to age here with confidence," he said.
"This homely facility will enable people to stay close to their family and friends while having access to quality, affordable aged care."
The $4 million provided by the Government, is part of the recent $60 million in capital grants announced as part of the 2018-19 Aged Care Approvals Round (ACAR) announced by Minister Wyatt earlier this month.
The ACAR resulted in over 5000 residential care places being allocated to services in rural and regional Australia, including 576 in country WA.
"This is double the regional allocation in the previous funding round and is part of our strategy to deliver senior Australians quality aged care services, regardless of where they live," said Minister Wyatt.
Regional Australia is a key focus of the 2018-19 Budget's ongoing $5 billion aged care boost which includes the landmark More Choices for a Longer Life measures to support better access to care, better quality of care and better ageing.
Amaroo Care Services, a community-based organisation which provides accommodation for seniors, has pledged $8 million for the facility, which will be built at its Hardy Street, Denmark, retirement complex.
