Homicide investigation at Mount Isa

Detectives have charged a man with another man's death in Townview yesterday afternoon.

At 4.50pm, police were called to a Barbara Street address following reports of an altercation between two men.

Police will allege the two men became involved in a physical altercation when a 29-year-old Pioneer man stabbed a 32-year-old Townview man in his upper body.

The 32-year-old Townview man was transported to Mount Isa Hospital but died a short time later.

Detectives have charged a 29-year-old man with one count of murder. He is due to appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court today.

Investigations are continuing.
