Maas take Centre stage at 2023 theatre season Launch

The Theatre's 2023 Season program was revealed for the first time on Sunday 27 November to an enthusiastic crowd of 270 people. The hot topics of the afternoon were shows, sponsors and special projects and, of course, the season theme – Dare to be Different.

Maas were in the spotlight as Manager, Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre, announced to a drum roll and rapturous applause that the Dubbo-based construction company, has come on board as the Theatre's Centre Stage sponsor for 2023. Founded in 2002, Maas is a leading Australian company with operating segments in construction materials, civic construction and hire, manufacturing and sales and real estate. This year marks their 20th year of operations.

Ms Christof, stated, 'This business is known for commitment to customers, delivering quality projects, teamwork and community involvement – the same values as Dubbo Regional Theatre. We are grateful for their support which will help us to bring some large productions normally out of our reach. For instance, The Sunshine Club, has a 16 member cast including a five-piece band based on a wonderful story of hope, acceptance and First Nations people. Without the generous support of Maas, this production would have to by-pass Dubbo as it would have been out of our budget reach.

Wes Maas, Managing Director and CEO attended with his wife Emma and their family, together with Andy Letfallah, Chief Operating Officer and Jackie Smith, Group HR Manager and their respective partners. Andy addressed the patrons on stage about the direction and diversity of the company and their desire to support live performance which is a way to build better and stronger communities. Andy Letfallah said, 'I was impressed by this theatre when I was taken on a behind-the-scenes tour, not only in the quality of design and construction, but most notably in its operations. There is a small, professional and dedicated team hard at work to make the magic happen.'

Maas is joined by another newcomer, Duncan McGinness Veterinary Surgeon as Chorus Line Sponsor. Together with David Payne Constructions, Marie Astley, Dubbo Dental, Burgun and Williams and Season Launch Sponsor, Kings Hall Jewellers, Dubbo Regional Theatre is in a strong position to continue with its artistic program to bring quality theatre productions to the region.

With 22 season shows, seven sponsors and a light display showcasing the new LED house light system, the crowd were in high spirits mingling in the foyer after the Launch chatting about their show selections for 2023.
