Two major events forced to cancel this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic are set to return in 2021.
Council has amended its agreements to hold the Red Hot Summer music festival and the 7 Cairns Marathon in Cairns to reflect this year's unfortunate cancellations.
The agreement with Regional Touring Australia to hold the Red Hot Summer event in Cairns for three years will now commence in 2021.
Red Hot Summer 2021 is set to be held at the Cairns Showgrounds on 15 May.
The current two-year agreement with Atlas Multisports for the 7 Cairns Marathon event will now also start in 2021.
