Man and woman charged following drug supply investigation in MEOCS

A man and woman have been charged following an investigation into drug supply in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

Police from the State Crime Command’s Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad executed a search warrant at a house on Market Street, Smithfield, about 7am yesterday.

During a search of the property, officers located and seized methamphetamine (Ice), MDMA, cannabis, counterfeit currency, an extendable baton disguised as a torch, ammunition, and mobile phones.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at the location and taken to Fairfield Police Station.

He was charged with goods in personal custody suspected being stolen, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, supply prohibited plant , possess counterfeit money, and breach of bail.

He has been refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court today.

During a search of the woman’s bag, officers located methamphetamine (Ice) and a glass pipe.

The 26-year-old woman was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for possess prohibited drug and possess water pipe, and is due to appear at Fairfield Local Court on Monday 4 July 2016.
