A man has been extradited from Western Australia and will face court over alleged historic domestic violence offences.
On Sunday 19 April 2026, officers from Cumberland Police Area Command commenced an investigation following a report of domestic violence offences in November 2025.
Police were told a 34-year-old man had allegedly destroyed a laptop belonging to woman known to him and threatened to damage her work truck in November 2025.
Police were further told the man allegedly assaulted and threatened the woman on multiple occasions between December 2025 and April 2026 while at a home in Merrylands West.
Following inquiries, officers from Western Australian Police Force arrested a 34-year-old man at Burniston Street, Scarborough on Monday 18 May 2026 at 6.50am.
On Tuesday 19 May 2026, investigators from the South West Metropolitan Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team travelled to the Perth Magistrates Court in Western Australia, where an extradition to NSW was granted.
On Wednesday 20 May 2026, the man was transported to Mascot Police Station, where an outstanding warrant was executed and he was charged with two counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm (domestic), assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV), common assault and destroy or damage property. A further warrant for other outstanding matters relating to a separate assault was also executed.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Local Court 7 today (Thursday 21 May 2026).
