Man wanted after incidents of sexual nature in St Kilda

Bayside Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team (SOCIT) detectives are appealing for information as they try and locate Benjamin Shoppee following two incidents in St Kilda last week.

Shoppee is wanted by police after it is alleged he approached a child and a woman, and was involved in two separate incidents of a sexual nature, on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 June respectively.

Ongoing enquiries and investigations at this stage have been unable to locate the 41-year-old man who was reported missing to police, from a medical facility in Victoria Parade Fitzroy, on 30 April 2020.

Shoppee was sighted on Monday 8 June at the same medical facility and was wearing a black top and red baseball cap at the time.

Police have released an image of Benjamin in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information regarding his current whereabouts.

Detectives are urging anyone who sights Shoppee to not approach him and to call Triple Zero (000).
