Ms Lisa Croft has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA).
Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management, David Littleproud, said Ms Croft would be leading the agency at a critical time.
"I congratulate Lisa on her appointment to this important role. Lisa has a strong public sector background spanning policy and program delivery in central, policy and program delivery agencies for over ten years and has been Deputy CEO since February 2018, and acting CEO since August.
"Ms Croft has successfully navigated and co-led a significant change program for the APVMA, including the relocation of the agency and its workforce from Canberra to Armidale and significantly improving the performance and efficiency of the agency.
"Under Lisa's leadership the APVMA continues to deliver efficient, effective, timely, and science-based agvet chemical regulation.
"I'd like to again extend my thanks to former CEO, Dr Chris Parker, who returned to the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment in August 2020. Dr Parker's leadership and efforts, in collaboration with Ms Croft's, were instrumental in the substantial improvement in the APVMA's performance and the successful relocation of the agency to Armidale.
