Murder charges after 2020 Corio stabbing

Homicide Squad detectives have charged three people with murder following a fatal stabbing in Corio last year.

A 17-year-old Brookfield male was charged today with one count of murder.

He had previously been charged with intentionally cause serious injury, affray and commit indictable offence while on bail in relation to this matter.

A 21-year-old Thomson man and a 19-year-old Melton man have also been charged today with one count of murder.

Both had previously been charged with affray and other related offences following the incident that took place on Goulburn Avenue, Corio on 23 August.

The 17-year-old has been remanded to appear at a children's court at a later date.

The Thompson and Melton men have been remanded to appear at Geelong Magistrates' Court on 5 July.
