New Cemetery Masterplan open for comment

At the Ordinary Meeting held Tuesday 9 June, Council resolved to place the new Cemetery Masterplan on Public Exhibition for 42 days.

The Masterplan was developed by consultants, Florence Jaquet Landscape Architect, and outlines plans for the proposed new Cemetery and Crematorium at the Rifle Range site owned by Council.

There were a number of meetings held with key stakeholders as well as a public meeting in September 2019. The culmination of this work was presented on 11 March at a public meeting and now Council are prepared for feedback during this period of Public Exhibition.

Ten recommendations from the report are:

  • Carry out the recommendations of the Storm Water Management Plan by SWS (2019).
  • Undertake Aboriginal Cultural and European Heritage Assessments to define any potential areas of significance.
